JLR Commercial Directed by Lino Russell

This was an immensely fun project to work on. There was a lot of sound design in this piece courtesy of James Saunders at LFO Sound so the music had to underpin it and not peak too early.

This mofif was very seemingly very simple - it's just two alternating notes all the way through. Tribal music is quite mesmeric and shouldn't change too much. Variation came from automation to bring out the bite of the distortion as the track progesses. A synth bass, my 5-string Warwick electric bass and a healthy dose of distortion were used in tandem to create a more complex sound that evolves. Drums to mark the pulse of the piece in amongst the roaring engine sounds and cutting the sound in and out suddenly keeps it sounding fresh and impactful and hopefully avoids fatigue.
