iPad Brushes Portrait

 

This portrait was created by a Brooklyn artist called David Kassan on an Apple iPad using an app called Brushes, which costs £3 from the app store. It’s an application that functions as a basic Photoshop, but I think the control and nuance you can achieve on an iPad is quite remarkable!

Known predominantly for his hyper-realistic oil paintings, he took to seeing what he could achieve on an iPad.

It was ‘finger-painted’ in a three hour session, and as far as I can see, it seems to have been painted all on one layer, using different transparencies. A time-lapse version of how it was created is here below:
